We understand why Johnny Depp gets all the juicy roles but I guess he doesn’t? He has long given up on the kind of pretty-man roles that would keep a thousand Taylor Lautners in swimsuit models and premium vodkas for life. Yet he thrives. Weird, right? Depp thinks so.  “The whole ride – my whole ride and experience on the ride – since day one has been pretty surreal in this business,” Depp says via People.com while promoting “Alice in Wonderland.” The actor plays the Mad Hatter in his seventh collaboration with director-pal Tim Burton and Helena Bohnam Carter. “It defies logic, why I’m still here. I’m still completely shocked that I still get jobs and still am around. But I guess more than anything it has been a kind of Wonderland. I’ve been very lucky.” He does lead a charmed life.
